All of the big brands that we know and love have things that define them, simple programs, software or hardware and sets them apart from the rest. These are more than just flagship products, these are the things that the world thinks of when they heard the name of that brand. Microsoft has the Windows Operating System; Google has its eponymous search engine; and Apple has the iTunes software. Apple is a huge brand and as a company it has a larger income than many GDPs, so for anything to define it like that i.e. huge, but that’s what iTunes does, and not without reason.

iTunes was one of the first software applications of its kind. It is more than a media player, more than a tool that can play music, video and more, it is a media centre and a retail hub, which is why iTunes is as big as it is, and why when you say the name Apple, people think of the iTunes program.
